- Ride Comfort: The Infiniti Q50 offers a firm, comfortable ride, although the seats lack adequate lateral support for cornering. Even at low speeds, tire, road, and wind noise are transmitted into the cabin. The seats in the Lexus ES 350 are firm enough to offer support and soft enough to ensure comfort. The optimized suspension soaks up the bumps for a smooth ride.
- Interior Features:Â The entry-level packages of both the Lexus ES 350 and the Infiniti Q50 feature simulated leather upholstery with ample seating for five people and power-adjustable front seats. However, the Lexus has class-leading rear legroom so that your passengers are comfortable no matter how long your journey is. Heated front seats are optional on the base ES 350 and standard on other trims. A power moonroof is standard across the ES range.
- Infotainment System: The multimedia system in the entry-level Infiniti Q50 offers dual touch screens, two USB ports, a six-speaker sound system with CD player and satellite radio, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. It doesn't have smartphone integration, which is surprising in these connected times. In the Lexus 350, you'll find standard Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, an 8-inch touch screen, three USB ports, and 10-speaker audio system with CD player and satellite radio. Also included are the Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0, navigation via the Scout GPS link, and Lexus Enform Remote which you can operate from your smartphone or smartwatch. You can opt for a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
Safety & Security
- Driver Assistance Features: The Infiniti Q50 offers standard vehicle dynamic control with traction control, a four-wheel anti-lock braking system with brake force distribution and brake assist, frontal collision warning, and forward emergency braking. However, for additional safety features, you have to add them from the options list or step up to a higher spec trim level.
- Standard safety features on the ES 350 include Smart Stop Technology, backup camera with dynamic gridlines, tire pressure monitoring system, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect that ensures that roadside assistance is on the way in an emergency. Optional for all models are a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and Intuitive Parking Assist with automatic braking. In addition to the ES 350's standard features, the Lexus Safety System includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane tracing assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, all-speed radar cruise control, intelligent high beams, and Road Sign Assist.
The Lexus ES 350 and the Infiniti Q50 are both excellent choices, although most Infiniti models are more performance oriented, while the Lexus focuses on luxury, comfort, and a refined ride.
