The Lexus RX outperforms the Acura MDX in many ways. The RX comes in nine trims, whereas the MDX has only three. The Lexus offers a luxury trim, and the Acura does not. The Lexus RX also offers hybrid versions of the all-wheel-drive, sport, and luxury trims.

The Lexus RX 350 and the Acura MDX both use a 3.5-liter engine, but the RX puts out 295 horsepower against 290 horsepower from the MDX. The RX also puts out a little more torque than the MDX.
Measurements
The Lexus RX is designed for luxurious comfort. The MDX is slightly longer and taller. However, the increase doesn't translate to the interior as the RX offers more passenger room.
- RX Front Headroom: 39.4 inches
- MDX Front Headroom: 38.1 inches
- RX Rear Headroom: 39.1 inches
- MDX Rear Headroom: 38.3 inches
- RX Front Legroom: 44.1 inches
- MDX Front Legroom: 41.4 inches
- RX Rear Legroom: 38.0 inches
- MDX Rear Legroom: 36.6 inches
In addition to the Lexus being more spacious on the inside, its outside measurements make it more maneuverable.
Luxury and Convenience
With Lexus, it isn't just about offering more space inside. It's what they do with the space. When it comes to luxury appointments, cars like the MDX can only dream of matching the RX. The table below looks at the luxury versions of both vehicles.
